Shelly Misener, Owner/Stylist
Shelly is a professional hair stylist and successful member of the industry since 1997. After years of working for others, she decided to give her own hair studio a try. She opened Evolution Hair Studio in June 2014. It has been a fun and exciting challenge. Owning a business helped grow her business knowledge and professional skill set. Shelly has grown in ways she never dreamed. Not the easiest accomplishment, it has been the most rewarding.
Her philosophy for the studio is amazing customer service and professional trend-forward thinking. She values a fun-loving, team-oriented setting with a tranquil feel. Each year, she updates her talent by attending classes and hair shows. Trained in the Pivot Point Method, Aveda hair color, cutting techniques and Italian-style cutting are just a few techniques. Currently, she works with Calura hair color, an ammonia, ppd-free line. She also uses Schwartzkoph and Alcove color and bleaching systems. In the studio, look for ecofriendly product lines and environmental-friendly hair colors, cleaning products and lifestyle.
In nearby Highlands Ranch, she loves to walk her sweet dogs, Woody and Elle. A fitness and nature-oriented person, Shelley likes to road cycle, mountain bike, hike, swim and snowboard. If there is an opportunity to get outside for some fun and fitness, she is all over it!
Thi Nguyen, Stylist
Thi has always had a passion for the beauty industry. With her years of experience, she keeps up with the latest trends and learns new techniques. Thi is always striving to help her clients achieve the perfect style that fits them. She specializes in hair-cutting, color, Balayage, hair extensions and certified in Brazilian Blowout.
TonyaMonique Granderson
Tonya is licensed and actively pursuing hairdressing since 1991. She enjoys many facets of styling such as cutting, coloring, perming, smoothing, straightening and texturizing. She works with all hair types from kinky curly to very fine and straight. Tonya also specializes in natural hair restoration. After completing her training with an international hair company, she became certified as a Scalp Micro Pigmentation Artist (SMP). Incorporating the technique of SMP in follicular challenged areas, she is able to create the illusion of hair density.
Joey McCracken
Joey has been in the hair industry for almost twenty years. A year ago, he took a step back to renovate property and teach cosmetology during the week. After teaching all week, you can find him in the salon creating works of art on his awesome clients! Joey is available by appointment only on Sundays.
Deshawn McCall
Deshawn has been a stylist for over 30 years. During his career, he has been an educator for Tigi, owned his own salon for 11 years and continues to attend continuing educational seminars. Evolution Hair Studio is fortunate to have him join our team. His expertise and wisdom are invaluable. In his free time, Deshawn is an avid cross-fitter and a DJ in the prevalent Rockabilly scene in the metro area.
